Overview:

In this position, and as part of the New Product Development (NPD) team, you will be responsible for the sourcing of new products developed by RTR. Does this sound like you? This is a full-time position, based at the company’s Concord, NC area facilities.

RTR products are sold to dealers, wholesale distributors and to end consumers.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the NPD Director, the Procurement Specialist is responsible for the initial procurement of parts, tooling and services for products developed and to be sold by RTR Vehicles. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following essential functions below.

Essential Functions:

Identifying new supply and manufacturing sources, both domestically and internationally.

Preparation of quote packages and soliciting quotes.

Supplier relationship management and contract negotiation.
Support Engineering team in test fitting and product evaluation.

Prepare estimates for investments and timing required to complete new projects.

Timeline management for suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of products.

Onsite and remote evaluations of suppliers.

 Manage suppliers through tool creation and evaluation.

Coordinate quality approval of new products between Engineering and suppliers.

 Assist customer service and engineering departments in resolving quality issues.

 Manage data transition to operations team when product is finalized and in production.

Basic Qualifications:

Highschool diploma

 3-5 years of previous experience in sourcing or purchasing, preferably in the automotive field.

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings to communicate requirements to suppliers with little oversight from Engineering.

Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office and team collaboration software. 

BENEFICIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Able to work well in group setting but capable of managing projects independently.

Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Willing to travel up to 10% of time, as necessary for supplier qualification and communication.

Multilingual, especially with consideration for Spanish and Mandarin

REMUNERATION:

$55k-$70k, depending on qualifications and experience.
