Some people just get it. They understand what it means to live the Ready to Rock™ lifestyle, and Joel Kopp is one of those people. A Mustang fanatic through and through, Joel has been part of the RTR® community for years. His passion for Vaughn Gittin Jr., RTR Vehicles, and Mustang culture runs deep, and his latest build at the RTR Lab proves it.

Joel’s RTR journey started back in 2012 when he bought a brand-new Race Red 2013 Mustang GT. Like many enthusiasts, he was looking for something different. Something with fresh styling and attitude that stood apart in the Mustang aftermarket scene. That’s when he discovered RTR. He started outfitting his S197 with RTR components, and over the years, that Race Red Mustang became a reflection of his personality and love for the brand.

Since then, Joel has become a familiar face at RTR events, whether stopping by the Lab or linking up with us across the country. One moment that stands out to us is from the 2023 Carlisle Ford Nationals.

Joel pulled his Race Red Mustang up to our display and had Vaughn Gittin Jr. sign the back of his car. It was a full-circle fan moment that captured what RTR is all about: creating meaningful connections with the Mustang community through a shared passion.

Earlier this year, Joel wasn’t planning to buy another Mustang. But when he came across a deal on a 2024 Mustang GT Performance Package that he couldn’t pass up, he knew exactly what had to happen next. He reached out to the Built by RTR team, and the plan was set for him to bring his Mustang to the RTR Lab.

Joel’s new Grabber Blue Mustang is now a fully serialized RTR Spec 1, but he didn’t stop there. He added a few extra touches to really make it his own. His build features 20-inch RTR Satin Charcoal Tech 5 Wheels, RTR Front Chin Splitter, Side Splitters, Rear Quarter Splitters, and MagneRide-compatible RTR Lowering Springs. The result is a perfect mix of signature RTR style, street presence, and enhanced performance.

Joel opted for an RTR Lab Delivery experience, where Vaughn personally walked him through the car and spent some time reflecting on their shared Mustang memories.

One story stood out. Years ago, Joel’s son Parker took a photo with Vaughn at the Mustang 50th Anniversary celebration in 2014.

Fast forward to today, Parker was right there as his dad took delivery of his first serialized Mustang RTR. A full circle moment that speaks to the legacy of Mustang culture and the bond it creates across generations.

Joel’s passion for RTR and the Mustang community continues to inspire us. We're proud to have played a small part in his journey, and even more honored to help bring his latest vision to life. His Grabber Blue Mustang RTR Spec 1 is more than a new build; it’s a celebration of years of loyalty, friendship, and shared passion.

Joel, thank you for trusting us with your build. We’re proud to be part of your RTR journey and can’t wait to see where the road takes you next.
