Mustang Week Texas 2026: Five Days, Full Send

Five days and one unforgettable week. RTR Vehicles rolled into Galveston, Texas for the second running of Mustang Week Texas, and we showed up Ready to Rock. From hot laps at MSR Houston to drift battles at Moody Gardens, it was five days of full-send Mustang culture with the community that makes it all worth it.

Galveston, Texas. Five days. More Mustangs than you can count. Mustang Week Texas returned for its second year, and we were there for all of it. From hot laps in the Mustang RTR Spec 3, ride-alongs with Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Ben Hobson, to hanging out with our community, here's everything that went down.

Track Day | MSR Houston

We kicked things off the right way — on track.

Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Ben Hobson took to MSR Houston for a full day of hot laps alongside Mustang Week attendees, setting the tone early for the week ahead. Fans were strapped in for ride-alongs in the Blu Corsa Mustang RTR Spec 3, making its first public debut. Finished in a color from our Extended Color Palette Program, available to every Mustang RTR customer.

The Mustang Karting Cup returned to Mustang Week, bringing a different kind of competition to the mix. Ben Hobson wasted no time making his mark, topping the board in qualifying before going on to win the pro driver class outright. Competitive by nature, no matter what he’s behind the wheel of.

Drag Day | Houston Motorsports Park

Day two moved the action to Houston Motorsports Park, where we kept the momentum going!

Vaughn and Ben rolled out their Mustang RTR Spec 5-D demo cars for ride-alongs on the HMP oval track. One of the standout moments came from Mustang RTR Spec 3 owner Saul Contreras, who worked alongside Vaughn to dial in his RTR Tactical Performance Suspension. With a few key adjustments and a refined launch RPM, Saul dropped over seven tenths off his 1/8-mile time. A real-time example of how much performance is built into the system when you know how to unlock it..

Later in the day, Vaughn took the Blu Corsa Spec 3 out for a quick drift lap, putting its balance and capability on full display.

Cruise In | Moody Gardens

Moody Gardens is the center of Mustang Week Texas, and RTR showed up with a lineup that stopped people in their tracks.

On display was a complete lineup of what RTR represents today: the Blu Corsa Mustang RTR Spec 3, the Ford Mustang RTR, the RTR-X, Vaughn’s 2020 Mustang RTR Spec 5, and his newly revealed personal Mustang RTR Spec 5 finished in Urban Bamboozle.

The merch was out, the vibes were right, and we had a blast meeting with everyone who stopped by and chatted.

The ride-alongs continued with Ben and Vaughn behind the wheel of their Mustang RTR Spec 5-Ds. Then things escalated. Ben threw the Ford Mustang RTR into a drift while Vaughn chased him down in the Spec 5-D, turning an unexpected moment into one of the highlights of the weekend.

Vaughn and Ben also stepped into the judge's seat for the first-ever Mustang Week Drift Battle, where local drifters went head-to-head for bragging rights. The competition heated up all the way to the final, where Diego Sandoval went toe to toe with Ben Hobson himself.

And Then There Were Proposals. 💍

Mustang Week isn’t just about cars. It’s about the moments that happen around them.

Throughout the weekend, a few Mustang enthusiasts chose their ride-along experience as the moment to propose, and we were honored to be part of it. That’s what makes this community different.

There's something special about a community that doesn't just share a love for cars, but chooses to share their biggest life moments around them, too. That's what the automotive community is all about.

Show Day | Moody Gardens

The final day of Mustang Week Texas arrived, and we had no intention of slowing down.

Ride-alongs in the Mustang RTR Spec 5-D continued throughout the day with Vaughn and Ben behind the wheel, giving fans their chance to ride shotgun in a 1000HP Mustang. And just like the day before, the proposals kept coming. Vaughn and Ben helped yet another couple mark the moment in the most RTR way possible. We love to see it.

Then came the finale, which was something unforgettable.

The Monster Energy FMX team took this experience to new heights, literally. They launched over Vaughn and Ben as they drifted side by side between the ramps. Tire smoke rising, bikes soaring overhead, and the crowd going absolutely sideways. The kind of send-off that leaves everyone buzzing on the drive home and searching for the dates for next year.

Until Next Time

Mustang Week Texas delivered in every way that matters. Two years in, and this event keeps proving why it belongs on every Mustang enthusiast's calendar. We had an absolute blast with the community, the cars, and every moment in between.

If you missed out on Mustang Week Texas, don’t worry. Round two of 2026 will take place with Mustang Week in Charlotte, NC, August 24-29, and we’ll be part of the action once more. See you there. 🤘
