We have teamed up with Grammy Award-winning artist and car enthusiast T-Pain to create a one-off 2025 Mustang RTR Spec 5-D Convertible that redefines what a convertible drift car can be. Unveiled at Larry Chen's Type S Night Lights Pre-Meet Event at Road Atlanta on May 7th, this one-of-a-kind build is RTR’s first-ever convertible drift car and a true testament to the blend of style and performance that RTR is known for.

Blending RTR Performance and T-Pain’s Personality

T-Pain’s new Mustang RTR Spec 5-D rides on the same chassis, suspension setup, and Aero 5 wheels as the championship-winning Mustang RTR Spec 5-FD, which we compete in Formula Drift with. It’s not just a showpiece—it’s engineered to perform at the highest level, mirroring the competition-level components used by the RTR Drift Team.

One of the standout features of this build is the custom-made carbon fiber ducted speedster humps, designed and fabricated in-house by our team. These not only add an aggressive visual edge but also serve as functional cooling ducts for the rear-mounted radiator and Whipple supercharger heat exchanger.

Painted in a metallic pearl pink, the roll cage ties the interior and exterior together beautifully, while the Whipple Supercharger lid is color-matched for that extra pop when the hood is removed. Under the hood is a 5.0L Gen. 4 Ford Performance Aluminator crate engine paired with a Gen 5 3.0L Whipple Supercharger System, capable of producing 1,000 horsepower!

Nearly every body panel is made of carbon fiber, with the only exceptions being the front and rear bumpers. Each panel features a unique carbon fiber weave. Custom-made carbon fiber fairings, designed in-house by our fabricators, serve double duty as cooling ducts for the rear-mounted radiators, while a metallic pearl pink roll cage seamlessly ties the vibrant exterior to the interior.

A Livery That Tells a Story

The livery, inspired by T-Pain's Nappy Boy Automotive brand, is as bold as the car itself. The bright pink exterior pays homage to T-Pain’s unique style, while a street map of Tallahassee—his hometown—fades into the exposed carbon fiber, creating a stunning visual effect. The attention to detail doesn’t stop there—the Whipple Supercharger lid is color-matched to the exterior, adding an extra pop when the hood is off.

The Journey from Spec 2 to Spec 5-D

“T-Pain is as much a car enthusiast as he is a musician, and being part of his rapid progression in drifting—and his Nappy Boy Automotive movement—is something we're incredibly proud of at RTR Vehicles,” said Vaughn Gittin Jr., Founder and President of RTR Vehicles. “It started with building him the special ‘C137’ Mustang RTR Spec 2 just a couple of years ago. Now, he was ready to level up, and that’s exactly what we did with the first-ever Mustang RTR Spec 5-D Convertible. The RTR team absolutely nailed this build, blending our performance philosophy with a style that only T-Pain and RTR could pull off.”

Coming to a Drift Event Near You

Fans won’t have to wait long to see this creation in action. T-Pain plans to take his Mustang RTR Spec 5-D Convertible to drift events and automotive activations nationwide. With its unmistakable RTR aesthetic, high-performance setup, and T-Pain’s undeniable flair, this car is set to make waves both on and off the track.
